Farlands Guide Hub - Beginner Tips, Achievements & Bug Fixes

Guides for Farlands 1.0, the space farming sim by JanduSoft: getting started, all 50 achievements, the Ark completion system, and launch bug status.

Farlands is a pixel-art farming and life sim — Stardew Valley's formula moved to the edge of the galaxy. You buy a suspiciously cheap alien planet, restore a crashed ship, and split your days between crops, fishing, bug catching, mining, and a cast of alien neighbors — except here, "the valley" is a whole star system you unlock planet by planet.

Version 1.0 released on July 16, 2026, after three years of development (two of them in Early Access). The developers call it content-complete, with "a couple of months" of bug-fixing and polish still planned.

FAQ

Is Farlands worth buying at 1.0? Honest answer: it depends on your bug tolerance this month. The content is all there — four-plus planets, 8 romanceable characters with full storylines and marriage, livestock, a completion system with a real story finale — and the overall Steam rating is Very Positive. But recent reviews trend Mostly Positive: the launch window has real rough edges (crashes for some players, partial controller support, missing tooltips), and the developers themselves say the next couple of months are for polish. If that history bothers you, watching the patch cadence for a few weeks is reasonable; the developers' track record on fixes is genuinely responsive, if sometimes slow.

What is the Ark? The game's completion meter — you donate and complete objectives to raise a percentage, and story events trigger at thresholds. The main storyline (Gorman's arc) concludes at 70% Ark completion, per the developers' own update notes; pushing to 100% is the long-haul completionist goal.

Is there multiplayer or couch co-op? No — single-player only at 1.0. Couch co-op has been a recurring community request since Early Access with no commitment from the developers.

Is the blacksmith bug fixed? Yes — the developer confirmed the fix on July 7, 2026, before 1.0 shipped. Details and remaining known issues in Bugs & Fixes.
