Rock Bottom Achievements: All 16, Ranked by Effort

Quick Answer: 13 of the 16 achievements arrive on their own if you simply finish the game and buy upgrades as you go. The three that need deliberate effort are Best Friends (the hidden crab β€” rarest in the game at ~8%), Fully Loaded (max the entire skill tree), and Stone Tycoon (10,000,000 stone, which asks you to keep mining bulk rock late game). Everything fits in one 3.5-4 hour run.

Global unlock percentages below are from Steam, captured July 15, 2026 (day 2 after release) β€” early numbers skew toward dedicated players, so they'll drift down over time, but the relative difficulty ordering holds.

The Auto Pile: Just Play

Bar None, In Too Deep, Rookie Miner, Seasoned Digger, and the progression chain (Crystal Clear β†’ Alloy There β†’ Into the Fire β†’ Embrace the Void β†’ Rock Bottom β†’ Light at the Bottom) all land by following the chunk objectives down through the layers and finishing the story. The unlock percentages read as a clean funnel β€” each is simply "how far did people get."

If a progression step won't trigger β€” especially chunk counters refusing to complete β€” that's a known launch bug, not you. Check Bugs & Fixes.

The Volume Three: Mine Ugly, Smelt Everything

Human Drill (10,000 blocks) happens on its own if you mine terrain rather than only chasing markers.

Stone Tycoon (10,000,000 stone) is the one volume achievement players can arrive at the endgame without. The trick is that late-game pickaxe power turns old layers into confetti β€” a short bulk-mining session in earlier biomes after your upgrades snowball clears the counter quickly. Don't grind this early; earn it in the victory-lap phase.

Production Line (100,000 bars) wants your smelter running continuously. Feed it everything you mine as you go β€” bars are the upgrade currency anyway, so this mostly tracks natural play with a possible top-up at the end.

High Roller: Spend, Don't Hoard

Spend 100 tokens total at the Token Altar. This overlaps perfectly with good play β€” the treasure finder perk and the gold pickaxe are both token purchases you want anyway (see the Beginner Guide). The only way to miss this is hoarding tokens for no reason. The crab, incidentally, hands you 10 tokens for free.

Fully Loaded: Max the Skill Tree (Know What You're Buying)

Rock Bottom's sprawling skill tree with dozens of nodes, showing the maxed Static Charge node Fully Loaded means every node in this web at max β€” including the corners that don't change how the game feels. (Screenshot: Logan Games)

Maxing every skill-tree node is the achievement with the most honest community warning attached: endgame players report the final nodes barely change how the game feels β€” "the upgrades barely feel any more powerful after you reach the final level," as one launch review put it. There's also no post-story content to use a maxed tree on.

So treat Fully Loaded as a checklist item, not a power goal: it's the reason your last hour includes bulk-mining old layers (which conveniently feeds Stone Tycoon and Production Line at the same time). Players who chase all three in the same cleanup session report 100% completion at around 3.5-4 hours total.

Best Friends: The Crab (Rarest, ~8%)

The only genuinely hidden achievement. Short version: the crab lives in a small cave beneath Orc Base 1, under the cage/elevator area β€” you drop off the cliff and dash left mid-fall to slip into the crevice, then press E next to the crab. It pays 10 tokens plus the achievement.

The reason it's rare: reaching it effectively requires the dash, and a surprising number of players finish the game without ever learning the dash exists. Full route with step-by-step directions: Crab Location guide.

Suggested 100% Route (One Run, ~4 Hours)

  1. Play normally, smelting continuously and following chunk objectives down.
  2. Buy the treasure finder perk early; spend tokens freely (High Roller resolves itself).
  3. Detour at Orc Base 1 for the crab β€” cheapest time to do it, and the 10 tokens help early.
  4. Finish the story (Light at the Bottom).
  5. Victory lap: return to old layers with endgame power, bulk-mine for Stone Tycoon + Human Drill, keep the smelter fed for Production Line, and pour the proceeds into the remaining skill-tree nodes for Fully Loaded.

FAQ

Can I get everything in one playthrough? Yes. Nothing is missable β€” the elevator lets you revisit every area, and one player finished 16/16 in about 3.5 hours.

Is anything bugged? Achievements themselves have no reported problems as of July 15, 2026 β€” but the chunk quest counter bug can stall progression that achievements depend on. Workaround in Bugs & Fixes.

Is Fully Loaded worth it if I don't care about 100%? By community consensus, no β€” the endgame nodes are for the checkmark, not the power.
